The STATE System houses current and historical state-level legislative data on tobacco use prevention and control policies. Data are reported on a quarterly basis. Data include all ordinary legislation, such as House and Senate bills passed by a state; statutory citations; restrictions; enforcements and penalties related to topics such as: advertising, tax, fire-safe cigarettes, licensure, preemption, smokefree indoor air, smokefree campus and youth access legislation. Data also contain court decisions relating to preemption of local smokefree indoor air ordinances.
